**By Jose Solorio**

I was born in a small town in Mexico and immigrated to the United States with my family when I was five years old. We settled in Santa Ana, California, and I attended public schools there. I was the first in my family to go to college, and I graduated from Fullerton College with an associate degree in political science.

After college, I worked as a community organizer and advocate. I was elected to the Santa Ana City Council in 1992 and served for eight years. In 2000, I was elected to the California State Assembly, where I served for six years. In the Assembly, I authored and passed legislation on a variety of issues, including education, healthcare, and the environment.

In 2006, I ran for Congress but lost in the primary election. After that, I took some time off from politics and worked in the private sector. In 2012, I was elected to the Fullerton City Council again, and I am currently serving my second term.

I am a lifelong Democrat, and I believe in the power of government to make a difference in people's lives. I am committed to fighting for the values of social justice, economic equality, and environmental protection.

I am also a strong advocate for renewable energy. I believe that we need to transition to a clean energy economy as quickly as possible in order to address the climate crisis. I am working on a number of initiatives to promote renewable energy in Fullerton, including a solar power project and an electric vehicle charging station.

I am optimistic about the future of America. I believe that we can overcome the challenges we face and build a better future for all. I am committed to ng my part to make that happen.

The Future of Energy in America

The United States is facing a number of challenges related to energy. We are heavily dependent on fossil fuels, which are a major source of pollution and greenhouse gases. We also have a growing demand for energy, which is putting a strain on our infrastructure.

We need to transition to a clean energy economy in order to address these challenges. Renewable energy sources, such as solar and wind power, are becoming increasingly affordable and efficient. We need to invest in these technologies and make them a bigger part of our energy mix.

We also need to improve our energy efficiency. We can do this by making our homes and businesses more energy-efficient, and by driving less and walking or biking more. Energy efficiency is a cost-effective way to reduce our energy consumption and our carbon footprint.

The transition to a clean energy economy will not be easy, but it is essential. We need to act now to build a better future for our children and grandchildren.

I am confident that we can overcome the challenges we face and build a better future for America. I am committed to ng my part to make that happen. I believe that we can create a more just, equitable, and sustainable world for all.

Thank you.
