- Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 18 minutes.
- Remove from heat and let stand, covered, for 5 minutes.
- Spread the rice on a sheet pan and let cool slightly.
- Place a sheet of nori on a bamboo rolling mat.
- Spread a thin layer of rice on the nori, leaving a 1-inch border at the top.

- Starting from the bottom, roll up the nori tightly.
- Slice the roll into 8 pieces.
- Serve with soy sauce, wasabi, and pickled ginger.
