Early Life and Education

Jo Mora was born in Uruguay in 1876 to Spanish parents. He showed an early talent for art and began studying at the Academy of Fine Arts in Montevideo at the age of 14. In 1897, he moved to the United States to continue his studies at the Art Students League in New York City.
