I am a Greek immigrant. I am also a conservative leftie. This is not a contradiction. It is a reality.

I was born in Athens, Greece. I grew up in a traditional Greek family. My parents were both devout Orthodox Christians. They were also both very conservative. They believed in hard work, family values, and a strong national identity.

I was raised with these values. I learned to respect authority. I learned to value family. I learned to love my country.

But I also learned to question authority. I learned to think for myself. I learned to care about others.

When I was 18 years old, I came to the United States to attend college. I was excited to experience a new culture. I was also eager to learn more about politics.

I quickly realized that American politics was very different from Greek politics. In the United States, there were two major political parties: the Democrats and the Republicans. The Democrats were generally seen as more liberal, while the Republicans were generally seen as more conservative.

I was not sure which party I belonged to. I agreed with some of the Democrats' views on social issues. But I also agreed with some of the Republicans' views on economic issues.

I decided to register as an independent. I wanted to be able to vote for the best candidate, regardless of party affiliation.

Over the years, I have voted for both Democrats and Republicans. I have also voted for third-party candidates.

I consider myself to be a conservative leftie. I believe in the importance of individual liberty. I believe in the free market. I believe in a strong national defense.

But I also believe in the importance of social justice. I believe in helping those who are less fortunate. I believe in protecting the environment.

I believe that it is possible to be both a conservative and a leftie. I believe that it is possible to hold both traditional values and progressive values.

I am not alone in my beliefs. There are many other people who identify as conservative lefties. We are a growing movement.

We are not always easy to understand. We do not always fit into neat categories.

But we are real. We are here. And we are not going away.

Here are some of the beliefs that I hold as a conservative leftie:

  • I believe in the importance of individual liberty. I believe that people should be free to make their own choices about their lives.
  • I believe in the free market. I believe that the free market is the best way to create wealth and prosperity.
  • I believe in a strong national defense. I believe that we must have a strong military to protect our country from our enemies.
  • I believe in the importance of social justice. I believe that we must help those who are less fortunate.
  • I believe in protecting the environment. I believe that we must take care of our planet for future generations.

I know that my beliefs are not always popular. But I believe that they are right.

I believe that it is possible to be both a conservative and a leftie. I believe that it is possible to hold both traditional values and progressive values.

I am proud to be a conservative leftie. I am proud to be a Greek immigrant. I am proud to be an American.
