About the Author

The author of this memoir is a retired Air Force colonel who flew over 1,000 combat missions in Southeast Asia during the Vietnam War. He is a graduate of the United States Air Force Academy and the Harvard Business School. He has served in a variety of leadership positions in the Air Force, including as commander of the 314th Airlift Wing and the 374th Airlift Wing.

The author is a highly decorated veteran who has been awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, the Air Medal with 13 oak leaf clusters, and the Bronze Star Medal. He is a member of the Air Force Association and the American Legion.
