Funicello also starred in a number of beach party films, including Beach Blanket Bingo (1965),How to Stuff a Wild Bikini (1965),and Dr. Goldfoot and the Bikini Machine (1965).

In the late 1960s, Funicello's career began to decline. She made a few more films and television appearances, but she never regained the popularity she had enjoyed in the early 1960s. In 1987, Funicello was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. She continued to work for a few more years, but she eventually retired from acting in the early 1990s.
